The Opening Service Weekend is a new program that will be directed by Sunkwon Bush. Here is his description of the program:

Get into the Shehaqua spirit a little early this year by helping the Family Camp team to set up the camp! Starting from 5:00pm Friday to 12:00pm Sunday, we'll be transporting and unloading equipment, setting up the kitchen, unloading food and distributing supplies to each unit (great exercise!). In between the work, you'll have some time to relax, play sports or board games and get settled into camp before the big Week 1 rush.

The price of $24 per person over age 12 and $12 per child ages 6-11 (children under 5 come free), will cover the cost of lodging for the whole weekend! Meals will also be provided all day Saturday along with breakfast and lunch on Sunday. Space is limited to around 30 people so sign up as soon as registration opens. We will announce the opening of registration in our next newsletter, in a few weeks.

Spring Gathering Registration Open, May 20–22

Do you feel restricted? Are there things holding you back from reaching your full potential? Maybe it's student loans. Maybe it's your relationships with your parents. Or maybe it's an old sports injury. This spring, challenge those limitations through an interactive, insightful, and experience driven weekend.

This year, the Spring Gathering wants to help you gain Spiritual/Emotional, Financial, and Physical freedom! Experienced presenters will share on aspects of Spiritual and Emotional, Financial, and Physical well being. Whether it's creating a healthier body, or a healthier marriage, we'll be talking about how to live our best life for ourselves and God. Presentations are geared towards high school through adult, but don't worry, there's plenty of fun for the whole family!

Laurel Nakai has come on board as the children's coordinator. Young kids will have a chance to take part in games and activities, and have a fun and safe place to stay while mom and dad check out a few of the sessions.

We're so excited to bring some fresh ideas and new content, to the place we all know and love. So mark May 20-22nd as: "Shehaqua Spring Gathering: freedom" in your calendar! Find out more about the program and activities on our facebook page. Click "Interested" or "Going" to make sure you don't miss an update! Can't wait to see you there!

Council Election Results

A big thank you to all who voted in last month’s Shehaqua Council Election. We had eight candidates run for six seats, but one of them, Kester Wilkening, withdrew his nomination. The following five candidates were re-elected: Doug Ashley, Claude Aubert, Chris Bush, Sunkwon Bush, and Haydee Ching. One candidate, Rob Sayre, was elected back on the Council after a 2-year break. Congratulations to all! The new Council already held its first Zoom video conference on March 3, approving the yearly budget and discussing several policy issues.
