Eight members of the Shehaqua Council met for their annual one-day summit at Camp Manatawny near Reading, PA, on Saturday, April 9. The meeting started with guest presenter Eric Wenzel leading the council in a session on ways to explore and experiment with new ideas for our programs while at the same time preserving what makes camp great. The summit continued with council members sharing their visions for what Shehaqua programs look like in the near and distant future. In the afternoon, the discussions focused on operational issues and the recruitment of new people for various positions. Everyone agreed that it was a good meeting, and the participants left eager to continue fine-tuning the Shehaqua governance structure, as well as the programs we offer to the community.
